63 Unswerving Prisoners to Return to DPRK Soon

As scheduled, the South government is to repatriate 63 unswerving former long-term prisoners to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on September 2.

"Sending back unswerving prisoners to DPRK would fulfil part of the accord made by the two Koreas' Red Cross talks held on June 30," said Hong Yang-ho, official at the Ministry of Unification. But the upcoming repatrition doesn't include family members of unswerving former long-term prisoners.

DPRK will confirm the list of repatriates on August 23 and the detailed procedures will be discussed between the two sides afterwards.

DPRK is believed to be willing to send one of its Air Koryo jets to collect the returning ex-prisoners.
