Arafat to Address Arab Foreign Ministers on Mideast PeacePalestinian leader Yasser Arafat is scheduled to address an Arab foreign ministers meeting in Cairo on September 3 about the peace talks between the Palestinians and Israel, Arab League's spokesman Talaat Hamad said on Tuesday.Arafat will focus on the latest developments of the Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations and his recent efforts to win support form world countries for the Palestinian cause, Hamad told Egypt's Middle East News Agency. Arafat has traveled to 25 capitals in a bid to seek backing for the Palestinian negotiating position since the Camp David summit ended in the United States on July 25. The summit failed to produce a final Palestinian-Israeli peace deal largely due to differences over Jerusalem. Hamad said the question of Jerusalem would feature heavily at the two-day meeting of the Arab League Foreign Ministers Council, adding the Palestinian-Israeli dispute over the holy city was at the core of the conflict in the region. Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa said on Monday that the Arab League meeting would also deal with issues concerning the reactivation of Arab coordination and preparations for a possible summit.
