Second-hand Computers Donated to HandicappedA ceremony of donation of second-hand computers and printers to disabled persons in poor areas was held Tuesday in Beijing.The computers and printers, totaling 356, were donated by central government departments. Deng Pufang, chairman of the China Disabled Persons' Federation, said at the ceremony that computers are becoming more important and friendly to the disabled. The donated machines will be of much help to the disabled in poor areas. Since the federation initiated the donation activity three months ago, a total of 538 computers and printers were donated to the federation. Of which, 356 were tested good and will be sent to poor and backward regions to help the education and vocational training of the handicapped. Deng asked the disabled federations at all levels to properly manage the computers and printers, and bring them into full use for the disabled. |
