Storms in Shaanxi Kill Ten People

Successive rainstorms in northwest China's Shaanxi Province have killed 10 people and injured 30 others. Storms hit several counties in southern Shaanxi in the past week. Floods and mudslides have damaged crops on 3,300 hectares of land and destroyed 6,000 ha of farmland, causing economic losses of 110 million yuan.

Officials of Nanzheng and Liuba counties, the worst hit areas, are busy organizing rescue efforts and providing relief materials to the affected households.
