Good Wishes to Chinese Athletes in Sports Gala
In a few days, the 27th Olympic Games will open in Sydney, Australia. Being held at the turn of the century, the Sydney Olympic Games will be regarded as the most magnificent international sports gala ever witnessed by mankind.
So it will be the venue of a soul-stirring, two-week competition among world-class athletes and will undoubtedly be the focus of worldwide attention.
It is exhilarating that China is sending its top athletes to the Games, and indeed they are presently busy with their last-minute preparations.
As one of the largest and most populous country in the world, it is more than natural that China should make greater contributions to world sports.
Together with the people throughout the country, I herewith give wholehearted hope that our athletes will do their best during the Games and bring credit to the motherland.
