Northern Section of Second Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge Completed
Following the joining of the southern section of the Second Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge last month, the northern section was completed early Monday morning.
The second bridge over the Yangtze River in Nanjing in east China's Jiangsu province, eleven km downstream from an existing bridge, connects two riverbanks.
The northern bridge is 2,172 meters long with a major span of 165 meters, the largest of its kind in Asia.
The bridge, which will open to traffic next year is expected to help alleviate traffic on the existing highway-railway bridge, built in 1968.
