Northeast China's film city Changchun is ready for the fifth China Changchun Film Festival with the panel members ready to work and the participating Chinese and overseas films being shown in major cinemas across the city.
The annual event, which is scheduled to open September 23, has set up 80 booths for the trading of feature films and TV play.
Sources at the festival's organizing committee said, 110 Chinese and overseas films will go through the best-film selection process. They include 88 films in Chinese, and 22 from the United States, France, Japan and Russia.
The festival's opening ceremony will begin with the singing of songs from films and TV plays by some 10,000 people, followed by the performances by 16 choruses of workers, farmers, soldiers and students.
