DPRK Threatens to Scupper Inter-Korean Peace Accord
DPRK on Sunday threatened to scupper an inter-Korean peace accord unless South Korea cancelled its joint military exercise with the United States.
"If the South Korean authorities truly want the improved North-South relations and peace on the Korean peninsula, they should take a step to cancel the large-scale joint military drill against the North," said the DPRK's Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland.
The committee is one of the influential state organizations in charge of inter-Korean affairs, and its warning came a day before US and South Korean troops were to start their annual two-week war games.
