Beijing to Hold 16th World Computer Forum

The 16th World Computer Forum, the largest-ever information technology congress in China, will be held from August 21 to 25.

The Forum has been held twice a year since 1960.

The organizing committee said Friday that information technology experts and entrepreneurs from around the world will discuss the development of computers, software, telecommunications and chip design automation.

The theme of the forum is "information science and technology after 2000".

The Ministry of Information Industry and Xinhua News Agency will hold the 2000 International Forum on Development of Information Industry during the forum.

The forum is sponsored by the International Federation for Information Processing, an international academic organization attached to the UNESCO.
