More Overseas Investment Poured into Hainan

South China's Hainan Province, which has the biggest special economic zone in the country, witnessed an increase in the number of foreign-funded projects, overseas contract capital, and actual foreign investment during the first six months of this year.

According to the provincial people's government, during the January-June period, Hainan had attracted 89 foreign-funded projects with more than UD$100 million of contract capital and used some US$210 million of foreign investment, a rise of 64.8 percent, 164 percent and 15.4 percent respectively, compared with the same period last year.

Those projects mainly focused on agriculture, the manufacturing industry, the service industry, telecommunications, the construction industry, communications and transportation, as well as the wholesale and retail sector.
