Most Handicapped in East China province Get Employed

As many as 80 percent of the handicapped adults in east China's Zhejiang province have been employed due to the help of the government.

According to an official source, in the past five years a total of 62,000 handicapped people found jobs through all kinds of channels.

According to the provincial government's policy, State-owned employers should hire at least 1.5 percent of handicapped workers so as to ensure the employment rights of those who are physically disabled.

During the past five years, the provincial government also helped train 47,000 handicapped workers, the source said.

Official figures show that there are 745,000 handicapped people who are able to work in Zhejiang.
