196 Officials Punished during January-July in Hainan

From January to July this year 196 officials from south China's Hainan Province had been punished for violating Chinese laws or the Chinese Communist Party's disciplines.

About 120 of them were given disciplinary action within the Communist Party of China (CPC) and 140 were given administrative disciplinary action, sources from the CPC provincial commission for disciplinary inspection and the provincial department of supervision said Thursday. They said that during the same period, the two departments checked 269 tips, registered 215 cases, and finished 150 cases.

Among the 196 officials punished, three are from the prefecture level, seven from the county level, and 46 are from the township level.
