Chinese Women's Soccer Lost to Australian 4-5

China's women soccer team was defeated 4-5 by Australia Thursday in Shanghai, only two days after they outpowered Australian team 3-0 in Yangzhou, according to today's Chinadaily.

This is the first time for Australia to win the Chinese team since 1997.

As the last game to play in China before the Olympics, the match did not give the Chinese team much fortune. Amid a cut-throat competition, neither side scored a goal within 90 minutes. Sun Wen, Chinese team leader, lost three chances of scoring a goal.

As they opened a penalty kick later, Chinese player Pan Lina missed one goal, giving the Australian counterpart a 5-4 win.

It is learnt that the Chinese women soccer team will arrive in Australia early September. There, they will have a warm-up game with Germany before they finally join the Olympics.
