Tarim Oilfield Maintains Strong Growth Momentum

The Tarim Oilfield in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has turned out 25.1 million tons of crude oil in the past 10 years since it was established, according to Thursday's China Petroleum News.

The oilfield has contributed a lot to the country's onshore oil development and has greatly boosted local economic growth.

The Tarim Oilfield, the eighth largest onshore oilfield in China, has so far put into operation eight oilfields and developed an annual crude production capacity of 4 million tons.

The oilfield focuses on developing new and high technologies, and has by now gained more than 80 important scientific research achievements in drilling, oil extraction, oil tracing and ground facilities.

The average daily crude output per well in the Tarim Oilfield is 60 tons, or 10 times more than the national average.
