China Unicom Launches Online Paging Service

China Unicom, one of China's telecommunication service heavyweights, has recently rendered free online paging service for its clients of 191 and 192 paging networks, according to Chinadaily.

The services include paging-via-Web, e-mail alert and stock check, which only requires the pager users to register at China Unicom website www.unipaging.com.

After registration, pager-holders can receive paging information sent by others through web, and get notice when e-mail arrives.

The stock service will enable users to choose three kinds of shares and track the prices every hour. Moreover, users will get alerted when the share prices hit bottom or ceiling levels which are set by users.

China Unicom would also provide more Internet services for pager-users, as a result of the inevitable service expansion from traditional message paging to personal information service.
