Chinese Men's Handball Team: To Beat ROK Team

After its defeat at the hand of the Japanese team, the Chinese men's handball team lost once again to the ROK team 19:33 August 16, thus missing the chance to play in 2001 World Men's Handball Tournament. Li Yingcai, head coach of the Chinese team, said after its failure the Chinese team's next goal is to catch up with, narrow the gap and finally beat the ROK team.

According to Li Yingcai, the Chinese team had played better in its contest with the ROK team than with the Japanese team August 12. Although we have lost the match we are in no way discouraged. The Chinese team had played restrainedly and that his men haven't yet brought their holistic strength vs the Japanese team. The Chinese team and Japanese team had been at a same level. When our men should give full play to their skills they will certainly win.

Li further said that the Chinese team has been played at a lower level than the ROK team as the strongest in Asia. The ROK team has won championship in Olympics and keeps a good level in recent years. So, the goal of the Chinese team is to catch up with and finally beat the ROK team.
