Four Cities in China Apply for Hosting 13th Asian Cup Football Game

China has applied for hosting the 13th Asian Cup Football Game. The 2004 Asian Cup Inspection Group of the Asian Football Association, consisting of four members, Tuesday made an all-round investigation and study on the contest facilities in Beijing.

According to Beijing Youth, the Asian football Association will vote for the city to host 2004 Asian Cup Game on October 27, 2000. Three countries, China, Thailand and Iran, have bidden for hosting the game. China has seen Beijing, Chengdu, Jinan and Chongqing, the four cities participating in the competition. The first stop of the investigation group is Beijing, followed by Jinan.

The executive member of the Asian Football Association, also the vice-chairman of Japan Football Committee, said that Beijing has left me a good impression. Although the facilities in the Beijing Worker Stadium look a bit old, it will turn out nicer when being renovated for receiving the 21st Undergraduate Games. It is largely decided that the 12th Asian Cup Game will be held in Lebanon. According to the unwritten rule of the Asian Football Association that the Asian Cup Game is to be held in East Asia and West Asia by turns, and China is going to host the 13th Asian Cup Game as likely as not.
