Bangladesh, China to Strengthen Military CooperationBangladesh will further strengthen the military cooperation between the Bangladeshi Army and the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China, Chief of Army Staff Muhammad Mustafizur Rahman told a visiting PLA delegation Wednesday.Referring to the worldwide high-tech trend in the military field, Rahman expressed the hope that the two armies could cooperate more closely in this field for better safeguard of the world peace. Lieutenant General Tian Shugen, Vice President of the Academy of Military Science who leads the PLA delegation, recalled the long-cherished military cooperative relationship between the two countries. General Tian appreciated the positive involvement of Bangladeshi armed forces in the international peace-keeping activities led by the United Nations. The existing friendly cooperation will be further promoted by exchange of visits, he added. The PLA delegation also met Chief of Banladeshi Navy Staff Abu Taher Wednesday with newly-appointed Chinese Ambassador Hu Qianwen present. The seven-member delegation which arrived here on August 15 will leave for India on August 18 to continue their South Asian tour.
