HK to Stage FIBA Diamond Ball Tournament

Six Sydney Olympics men's participating teams, including world champion Yugoslavia, are set to meet at the FIBA Diamond Ball Hong Kong 2000, the organizers announced on Wednesday.

The six national teams are current world champion Yugoslavia and the current champions from four continents -- China, Italy, Australia, Angola and American runner-up Canada.

There will be many NBA players competing in the tournament, including Chris Anstey and Luc Longley from Australia and Todd Macculloch and Steve Nash from Canada.

Hong Kong Basketball Association, one of the organizers, said this is the last warm-up for those teams before heading to Sydney.

The competition will go from September 2 to 6 in Hong Kong Coliseum.
