Shi Tianshu: China Diving Team Capable of Winning Four Golds

Shortly after the diving team's last trial before the Sydney Games ended in Jinan City, Shandong province, Shi Tianshu, chairman of the Chinese Swimming Administration Center, publicly announced that he was certain the Chinese diving team could win three to five gold medals in the Olympics.

The four new synchronized diving events give the Chinese team greater hopes of taking home a medal, however, their competition will also be tough.

In the single diving events, Shi has a lot of confidence in veteran divers Xiong Ni and Fu Mingxia. Shi disclosed nothing about the athletes selected for the Olympics. The State Sport General Administration will make the final roster of the representatives China will send to Sydney public by approximately one week from now.
