Heilongjiang Audit Finds 10.2 Billion Yuan of Illegal Funds in First Half
Heilongjiang province's various auditing departments audited 2,322 work units between January and July and discovered 10.2 billion yuan in illegal funds, up 54.5% from the same period last year.
Since the start of this year, the auditing departments at all levels of the province audited major funds, major departments and major projects. More than 3.6 billion yuan of illegal funds were discovered in the state appropriations for developing technology, funds earmarked for developing undeveloped areas, water conservation subsidies and fifteen administrative fees. The auditing departments also found that the management of the budget was not normal in some areas, the management over the funds was lax, the management of administrative fees was subjective and accounting was falsified.
The Heilongjiang auditing departments also helped other department investigate 22 cases, sending 14 of them on for legal action.
