Further Feasibility Study for Large Power Station in Guangxi

Engineering experts said Monday that Longtan Power Station, which is planned to be built on the Hongshui River in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, south China, is expected to be a very good project for the development of the western region.

Entrusted by the State Development Planning Commission, experts from China International Engineering Consultation Corporation completed the follow-up feasibility study for building the large power station.

The Longtan Power Station is expected to be the next major power station built since the start of the Three Gorge Project along the Yangtze River.

The station, once completed, will be the most important power station on the Hongshui River,

with an installed capacity of 4.2 million kilowatts in the near future.

The power station can send electricity to both Guangxi and Guangdong power networks.

It will also be a key project for opening the whole navigable pass of the Hongshui River.
