The Hong Kong International Airport recorded continuous robust traffic growth in July, with passengers, cargo and aircraft movements reaching new monthly highs.
Some 32.2 million passengers passed through the airport in the past 12 months, including 3 million passengers in July, up 8.3 percent over July 1999, according to the latest statistics from the Airport Authority of Hong Kong available on Sunday.
Cargo traffic maintained double digit growth with the total cargo for July up 13.7 percent from the same period of last year to 188,000 tons. The airport has handled cargo of 1.2 million tons this year, and almost 2.2 million tons in the past 12 months.
Meanwhile, aircraft movements totaled 15,520, a rise of 8.6 percent compared with July 1999.
