Jiangsu-funded Projects Launched in TibetConstruction on two major projects funded by east China's Jiangsu Province has started in the Tibet Autonomous Region, southwest China.The Lhasa Science-Technology Information Building, costing 48 million yuan (5.78 million US dollars) and with a floor space of over 7,000 square meters, will be equipped with wire and wireless telecommunication controls, TV monitoring, computerized information networks, and satellite positioning systems. The Lhasa Emergency Aid Center is expected to improve medical treatment facilities in the Lhasa city hospital, built in the 1970s. The center will cost more than 9 million yuan (1.08 million U.S. dollars). Other projects funded by Jiangsu include a building for hygiene and epidemic prevention purposes in Lhasa. Jiangsu has also sent a group of agriculture and water conservancy experts to conduct feasibility studies on the Lhasa River valley. |
