Nokia Provides Broadband Service for Yunnan Telecom

Nokia, a world leading provider of mobile phones, signed a contract with China's Yunnan Telecom recently to supply broadband access networks.

Nokia is expected to offer D50e broadband services for the Yunnan Telecom to provide broadband access in Kunming, capital city of Yunnan, and other five cities. Service will be provided by Nokia in cooperation with Hongkong's Jiajun Ltd.

The contract will enable Yunnan Telecom to provide fast Internet services in the whole province and to meet the growing demand of users.

D50e, a Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) broadband platform, has been approved by the Ministry of Information Industry. Nokia was the first manufacturer to gain license in DSL Access Multiplexer to enter the Internet market in China.
