One of the victims of the Hong Kong Immigration Tower fire died early Friday morning, the government said in a press release Friday.
The deceased was a 26-year-old right-of-abode claimant. He was certified dead at 7:04 a.m.
A total of 15 persons are still staying at hospitals and seven of them are staff members of the Immigration Department. Two of the victims are in critical condition, including an immigration officer.
A fire broke out inside a unit on the 13th floor of the Immigration Tower of Hong Kong around 06:00 p.m. on August 2, injuring 47 people, including 23 staff members of the Immigration Department. The case is still under investigation.
