DPRK Leader Meets South Korean Businessman

Kim Jong Il, the leader of the Democratic people's Republic of Korea, met Chairman Jong Mong-hon of South Korea's Hyundai Asan Company, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Thursday.

Jong and his delegation entered the DPRK via the Truce village of Panmunjom on Tuesday. They brought with them the first 500-head of a scheduled 1,500-head of cattle and building materials shipment.

The 55 trucks carrying the cattle and materials are reportedly the first vehicles to enter North Korea in more than 50 years of separation.

Kim thanked Jong and his party for the cattle and materials.

Kim and Jong also attended a luncheon with the group and held friendly discussions, the KCNA said. The group also posed for photographs.
