Dollar Slightly Up Against Yuan on China Forex Market

China's interbank foreign exchange trading volume reached 2.974 billion US dollars, 244 million Hong Kong dollars and 4.31 billion Japanese yen in July, according to the Shanghai-based China Foreign Exchange Trade System.

Total trading was nearly the same level as that a year earlier.

The exchange rate of the US dollar against yuan went up slightly to close at 8.2790 yuan at the end of July, up eight points from the end of June. The weighted average gained 10 point to stand at 8.2792 at the end of July.

The Hong Kong dollar closed at 1.0616 yuan at the end of July, up three points from June, with the yen-yuan rate standing at 7.5775:100, compared with 7.8439:100 a month earlier.
