Guangxi to Hold Sino-Vietnamese Border Trade Fair

A commodity fair on the Sino-Vietnamese border is to be held by Fangcheng City in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from September 23 to 27.

The location of the fair is at Dongxing Town which borders on Vietnam, and the fair is to promote trade exchanges between the two countries.

Yin Jianguo, acting mayor of Fangcheng City, said today that delegations from more than 20 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities are to attend the fair.

He said that the fair will focus on demands from Vietnam, involving machinery and electrical products, light industrial products and textiles, non-staple foodstuffs and household electrical appliances.

During the fair, entrepreneurs from China and Vietnam will hold seminars to discuss business opportunities and cooperation.

He said that many Vietnamese business people as well as business people from the United States, France, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan will also attend the fair.

Over the past few years, exports through Fangcheng City to Vietnam have reached about 10 billion yuan-worth, and the annual number of visitors from Dongxing Port to Vietnam is about 2.5 million.
