NPC Chairman Meets Georgian National Assembly Speaker
Li made a high evaluation of bilateral relations, which have witnessed steady growth since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1992, and the parliamentary relationship, which has grown closer following contacts between leaders of the two parliaments. He said that he highly appreciated the fruitful cooperation between the two countries in the economic, trade, scientific, technological, cultural and educational fields, expressing the hope that coordination in all aspects would be fully carried out. China's NPC emphasizes its contacts with the Georgian National Assembly, and is willing to further expand cooperation in a bid to promote overall ties, Li said. Zhvaniya said Georgia considers its ties with China to be an important part of its overall relations with other countries, and the parliamentary relationship is an important part of the overall bilateral ties. He spoke highly of China's great achievements in economic construction since its reform and opening policies were introduced, adding that China's successful experience is well worth learning by Georgia. Zhvaniya arrived in Beijing earlier today for an official goodwill visit as Li's guest.
