Shenyang Military Command Women's Basketball Team to Visit North Korea

Invited by DPRK's Ministry of National Defense and approved by the People's Liberation Army General Political Department, 23 members of the Shenyang military compound women's basketball team, led by Shen Xiangfeng, vice-director of the Shenyang military compound Political Department, flew to DPRK Wednesday for a ten-day friendly visit.

China and DPRK have a long history of sports and cultural exchanges. This visit will promote the development of the two armies' basketball game and sports.

The Shenyang military compound women's basketball team is one of the top teams in the Chinese Women's Basketball Class-A League. In the past ten years, it has won five championships, come in second place three times and third twice in the league. The team will reportedly play a friendly game with the 425 women's basketball team of the DPRK People's Army.
