Domestic Mobile Phones' Market Share Increasing Gradually

Statistics from Shanghai's mobile phone market indicate that the market share for domestic phones is climbing up. In some shops which specialize in mobile phone sales, domestic cell phones accounted for 1%-2% of the market in the past but have seen it market share increase to the current 10%. This trend is almost the same nationwide.

Consumers have begun to show interest in domestic mobile phones. Experts predict that this year mobile phone users will increase 28 million users, more than 10 million from last year, and 5 million of them will choose domestic phones.

Domestic mobile phones are close to foreign-made phones in terms of appearance and technology. They have won consumers' heart with their beautiful design, high quality, practicality and multi-function. Take Eastern Communication Co., Ltd's EL600 for example, people say that it has an "attractive appearance, complete function and fashionable color." People in Shanghai have described it as a "beautiful girl". The new TCL999D is a WAP mobile phone, comparable to foreign import phones in terms of function, design and technology.

There will be reportedly seven to eight newly designed phones unveiled in China this year. After years of research and development, domestic enterprises are now trying to make a big breakthrough in mobile phone production.
