Guizhou Opens First Specialized Insurance Firm
The Guizhou Huabang Insurance Agency Ltd opened for business on August 9 in this capital of southwest China's Guizhou Province.
As the first of its kind in the province, the firm is also one of five insurance agencies approved by the China Insurance Regulatory Commission in the country.
An official of the commission said that the development of insurance agencies is an important measure to foster the insurance market and improve the insurance system in the country.
Huabang was set up jointly by the power industry, financial and securities services, and chemicals and pharmaceuticals industries in Guizhou.
Its business scope will cover life, property and accident insurance.
