China to Broadcast On-line College Enrollment LiveChina's national college entrance examination participants this year will have the chance to watch the whole process of on-line college enrollment on TV tomorrow night.At 22:57 tomorrow, China Central Television (CCTV) will broadcast live this year's on-line college enrollment process, the first program of its kind in China. An official from the Ministry of Education said that the broadcast spots are the enrollment office of the Beijing Municipal Government, Qinghua University and Beijing University, and the official will receive consultation through the CCTV network. TV watchers can also check the college matriculation list at the same time. About 800 Chinese universities and colleges will enroll nearly one million students via the Internet from 19 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities this month. Over half of Chinese universities will try to enroll students on-line this year. Last year, the Education Ministry tried on-line enrollment in 400 universities, including Beijing University and Qinghua University, in ten provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities. Chinese universities enrolled over 200,000 students via the Internet last year. |
