China Renovates Famous Temple Along Silk Road

China has invested three million yuan to renovate a temple under state protection, which is expected to open to tourists later in the year.

Built in the 1330s in Qing'an County in northwest China's Gansu Province, the Xinguo Temple is noted for its Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) architectural features.

The temple was placed under state protection by the State Council in 1996.

However, the main building of the famous temple is in ruins and is not open to the general public. The State Administration of Cultural Heritage will be in charge of restoring the temple.
