China to Hold Cultural Promotion Festival in U.S.

A Chinese cultural festival will be held in the United States on August 24, China Radio International reported on August 8.

During the 25-day festival, China will hold exhibitions, artistic performances and speeches in New York, Washington, Chicago and other US cities.

The festival aims to introduce the Chinese traditional culture, modern art, and history, as well as the current situation in China.

It aims to help American people to get to know more about China and the Chinese people.

The festival's being jointly sponsored by the Information Office of the State Council and the Ministry of Culture.

It will be the biggest of its kind in recent years.

Chinese President Jiang Zemin, U.S. President Bill Clinton and Secretary-General of the United Nations Kofi Annan have all sent letters of congratulations on the festival.
