Vietnamese, Chinese Youths Strengthen Solidarity: Official

Pham The Duyet, member of the Politburo Standing Board of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, hoped that the youths of Vietnam and China should strengthen solidarity and cooperation, contributing to the friendly neighborliness and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

Duyet made the remarks Wednesday in Hanoi during a meeting with the Chinese Youth Delegation.

He said the late leaders of the two countries President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong had meticulously bred the Vietnam-China traditional friendship. Vietnamese people will never forget the gigantic supports and aids of fraternal Chinese people in the long-term revolutionary struggle.

The senior Vietnamese party official, who highly valued Chinese people's great successes in the cause of reforms and opening-up, expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, Chinese people will unceasingly achieve new victory in their advancing path.

Duyet said that the visit by the Chinese delegation will further promote the exchanges between the youths of the two countries.

Youths are the successors to the cause of revolution, said Duyet, adding that he hoped the youth leagues of the two countries will strengthen solidarity and cooperation, mobilize vast young people to foster a lofty communist ideal and contribute to the causes of construction and development of the two countries.

The Chinese delegation arrived here on Monday for a six-day goodwill visit.
