Double-deck Train Debuts in China
Sifang Locomotive Plant has been credited with the manufacture of the first double-deck train in China. Equited with air-conditioning and a maximum speed of 200 km per hour, it will soon be put into use on the Beijing-Tianjin railway line.
Ten carriages form a grand sight of the train. Central to the train is its SW-200 bogie independently developed by the manufacturer, which has won wide approval for its good reliability and superior performance when compared with other similar products in China. What's more, the train has advanced implosion guards introduced to avoid glass breaking when two trains meet in an opposite direction with a velocity of 350-400 km per hour. Of a superior double-deck structure, global satellite positioning, vibration absorbing, following an electric information displaying system, beautiful in design has the train been manufactured. Allowing for a carrying capacity for 1402 passengers on board at a time, it has been regarded as the most advanced type in China.
