Taiwanese Investors' Complaints Well Handled in Hainan

Complaints from Taiwanese investors are well handled in south China's Hainan Province, the country's largest special economic zone, official sources said.

Out of a total of 362 complaints put forward since 1994 by Taiwanese investors to local departments concerned, 260 have been solved through administrative or judicial means.

Of the total cases, 40 percent arose during case handling by administrative and judicial departments, 30 percent concerned enterprises or individuals, and 25 percent were connected with security problems, according to an official feedback conference on the enforcement of the Fellow Taiwanese Investment Protection Law.

There are currently 1,300 Taiwanese enterprises in Hainan, of which 230 are engaged in agricultural production and play an important role in developing hi-tech tropical agriculture in the province.
