Inner Mongolia Promotes External Trade

The imports and exports of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in north China rose drastically in the first half of this year.

The import value of the region reached 993 million US dollars, rising more than 50 percent over the same period of last year, while the export value rose 33 percent to 560 million US dollars.

The regional government adopted effective measures to encourage enterprises to increase the number of channels to export their products. With the aid of the related departments of the Central Government, the region focused its efforts on the increase of exports of maize and cattle.

Over the past six months, it exported 2.4 million tons of maize, earning 240 million US dollars, the highest level in history.

The region also helped the non-public sector to expand its exports. In the period, the export value of the enterprises in this sector in the region reached 28 million US dollars.
