Preparations for 4th China Investment, Trade Fair Going Well

Preparations for the 4th China Investment and Trade Fair, to be held in this south China city in early September, are going smoothly, an official of the organizing committee of the fair said Tuesday in Xiamen.

So far, more than 130 overseas business groups, government departments or transnational corporations have expressed willingness to attend the fair, the official said.

Last year, 6,400 visitors and 200 delegations from 80 countries and regions attended the third fair.

The state-level fair is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, the Fujian Provincial Government and the Xiamen Municipal Government.

The official said that during the fair there will be three sections -- the investment talks section, technology and product exchange section for foreign-funded enterprises, and Taiwan investment section.

More than 40 transnational corporations, including General Electric, Motorola, Siemens, Nokia, Dell, Kodak, Panasonic and Toshiba, will have booths at the investment talks section.

China will present 828 projects for overseas investment, entailing 36.9 billion US dollars.
