China Sounds a Breakthrough in Leukemia StudyChinese scientists have made a great breakthrough in the study of leukemia. They have not only succeeded in separating and cloning a certain number of new virus genes for the first time in the world, but also proven that the new virus genes in human's acute leukemia cells present in a specific way.Doctor Xu Rongzhen in charge of the study said that they are using modern molecular biotechnology and computer biological information to separate, clone and examine the new virus all-genome, meanwhile the trans-genetic technology is adopted to single out and separate the candidate genes from the anti-virus vaccine. Scientists remarked should this research be successful, it will lay a foundation for the further study of acute leukovirus etiology in human body and for applying the anti-virus vaccine in the prevention and healing of leukemia. Once virus etiology is proven, human leukemia may not only be prevented by using anti-virus vaccine, but dramatic change will occur in the way of treatment from the current cells killing by chemotherapy to anti-virus treatment. |
