International Alliance on Development of Western China Established in BeijingGovernment departments, Chinese and foreign companies in China Tuesday announced they have established an international alliance for the development of China 's vast western area.Departments of the provincial-level governments in western China, including Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guizhou, Gansu, Shaanxi and Qinghai provinces, the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the Tibet Autonomous Region, are the among the first to join the International Alliance on Developing The Western China. Foreign members include transnationals in China such as Toshiba, Siemens, Alcatel and Marubeni. The alliance will organize leaders of foreign companies to visit China's western areas. It will also give out information on the development of the western area and trade and economic opportunities, said an official with the Forum on Development of Western China, which began here today. China began massive development of its western regions this year, which officials say is a "historic task." Foreign investment and cooperation in the region are considered very important in developing the region.
