The ceremony for the first publication of " Olympic Games Encyclopaedia" was held in the Beijing Xidan Book Plaza yesterday. He Zhenliang, executive member of the International Olympics Committee and honorary chairman of the Chinese Olympics Committee, attended the ceremony.

" Olympic Games Encyclopaedia" was compiled by the Chinese Encyclopaedia Publishing House for two years. It contains more than 700 entries, 700,000 words, and 800 beautiful pictures. It describes the Olympic Games in an all-round way and from different angles, displaying the history, development and future of the Olympic Games. It is not only a reference book on the study of the Olympic Games, but also provides a practical guide for sports enthusiasts to appreciate the upcoming Sydney Olympic Games and to actively participate in Beijing's application for hosting the 2008 Olympic Games.
