News Releases from Hubei, Jiangsu and Qinghai

News from Hubei reports institutional reform is to be completed of 22 provincial-administered scientific research institutions including the province's Research Institute of Chemistry by the end of this year and 27 others towards the end of next. Then, as it has been planned, a complete change of all state-run scientific research institutions into enterprises or units is to be effected.

News dispatch tells that 100 doctoral students on a tour of Jiangsu Province from Beijing and Qinghua Universities on August 6 held counterpart talks with entrepreneurs and leaders from 100 enterprises and units in Zhenjiang City, south Jiangsu. As is reported, cooperative deals were signed by 52 enterprises in the city with these doctoral students for initiating 112 construction projects. This was part of the activity organized by the Personnel Department of Jiangsu in coordination with Beijing and Tsinghua Universities.

Statistics from Xining Customs have pointed to a great growth registered by Qinghai in export trade this year. Export earnings by the province in the first half of this year were reported to be a total of US$54.03 million, up 21.3% over the same period of last year, or 54.03% of the year's plan targets having been achieved.
