China-made Anti-Aids Drug Experimented in Thailand

Clinical experiments in Thailand on 28 people with AIDS have proven that a China-made compound pharmaceutical drug is effective in the treatment of AIDS.

The medicine Fufang SH was developed by a group of Chinese scientist headed by Luo Shide, a professor at the Kunming Botanical Research Institute under the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The experiment was carried out on the patients at Sapatong hospital of Ban Chiang Mai city in Thailand, according to an agreement signed between Thailand and the Kunming Botanical Research Institute in July 1999.

The HIV virus in nine AIDS patients were reduced considerably after they took the medicine for three months. The HIV infection in 16 other patients had stayed stable, which suggests that the virus has been controlled, according to Thai Public Health Minister Korn Dabbaransi.

After tests on 1,000 kinds of medicinal herbs for 13 years, they found 150 medicinal herbs are active in fighting the AIDS virus. Then they made a compound drug with five herbs as the principle ingredients.

The medicine has been proven safe, non-toxic and cheap.
