Beijing to Reconstruct Ruins of Yuanmingyuan Park
According to the "Plan for Ruins of Yuanmingyuan Park" passed recently by the Beijing Government, Yuanmingyuan Park will be partially restored and rebuilt in the near future. The relevant departments of Beijing have already started the job of moving over 600 households and 14 work units out of Yuanmingyuan, Changchunyuan and Wanchunyuan parks, and clearing away garbage to improve the environment of the park.
It's reported that the ruins of the park will be divided into six functional zones, namely, ruins- visiting activity zone, historical and cultural relics exhibition zone, ruins-sightseeing zone, resting and recreation zone, comprehensive service zone and park administrative zone. Besides, the park will also be separated into six scenic areas, namely, Changchunyuan, Wanchunyuan, Fuhai, the west of Yuanmingyuan, the northeast of the three parks and the southwestern scenic area.
