The 25th Harbin Summer Music Festival opened Sunday in Harbin, capital city of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, with the presence of more than 20 art troupes from all over the country.
The festival has been jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and the government of Harbin City since 1961.
During the 10-day festival, more than 30 concerts and dance and drama shows will be presented, including art performances by American and Japanese musicians and singers from Macao and Taiwan.
Harbin has become one of the major concert centers in China. From May this year, more than 150 art performances by Harbin citizens have been given in squares in the city, entertaining 3 million local people.
