China To Host First National Jasmine Tea Fair

China's first National Jasmine Tea Fair will be held by China Tea Distribution Association during August 16-18 in Hengxian County in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the country's largest jasmine tea processing center.

According to Mei Feng, director of the Association, over 2,000 tea producers, traders and experts from China, Malaysia and Singapore will attend the fair.

Participants will display varieties of scented tea and tea sets and exchange opinions on the development of scented tea in the 21st century and techniques of tea cultivation, said Mei.

Scented tea is mainly produced in China. Jasmine Tea is the most popular scented tea, and it is generally drunk in copious amounts in the north and northwest China.

Statistics show that Hengxian County produces 50,000-ton of scented tea annually, accounting for more than half of the national total.
