Three-quarters of NPC Deputies' Proposals Answered

Three-quarters of the proposals made by deputies at the Third Session of the Ninth National People's Congress (NPC) have received a reply by the middle of July.

During the Third Session of the Ninth National People's Congress, the deputies raised a total of 3,800 proposals, the most during the Ninth National People's Congress. These proposals covered a range of topics and were very difficult to carry out. Due to the strengthening of the task mechanism in the State Council departments, the representatives' proposals were carried out faster than previous years.

The State Council and various ministries and commissions, Supreme People's Procuratorate of the People's Republic of China, and other departments have improved the procedure to carry out the recommendations by the NPC representatives. Some work units have specifically researched and proposed measures. Other heads of work units have personally called meetings to address these proposals.

This year, the work units in charge of carrying out the proposals have set up a responsibility system. The work units have increased inspections and used scientific management techniques to handle the tasks.
